Hello again
If you’re keen to come along to the start of the ride here in Perth tomorrow, the start is on Marine Parade (almost at the very end) at what I’m told is known as Swanbourne Beach (about 800 metres up from the Cottesloe hotel).
The location is on this map here.
Hope to see you there!
Cheers

Bikes boxed and ready to fly
Coolangatta Airport 9 Sept, 2008
Hi, Brendon here.
We arrived in Perth this after (1.30 pm local time) after a 5 hour flight from Sydney.
Rest of the afternoon was spent organising bits and pieces, a visit and talk by Jack to the Cottesloe Scout Group and then a big dinner.
Cheers

Some people are just so nice.
Craig Harper took some time to chat with Jack and I when we were in Melbourne last.
He rang today say he couldn’t come along to the Ride Celebration Dinner but wanted to support us by buying 2 tickets for the dinner for us to donate to 2 people who would like to come along but wouldn’t be able to afford it. Great stuff!
Phil Jauncey and his wife Ros have just sent another donation of $750! Phil is a Sports Psychologist and has shaken down his clients over the past few weeks for donations for us! Terrific.
Michelle Wu (left) is the World Age Group Triathlon Champion – Michelle is sponsored by Hammer Nutrition, the same people who sponsor us with ride nutrition.
Michelle emailed Jack to wish him all the best.
Glenn and the Cannibal team did our ride jersey and knicks, and donated some brilliant wind breaker jerseys, socks, caps and backpacks worth hundreds of $$$.
Thanks!
Jack & Brendon

Jack and I set out this morning for our final training ride – an easy 45 km ride out into Tallebudgera Valley, finishing with a bit of a climb up Syndicate and Ducats roads.
We encountered a bit more of the local wildlife with about 40 cows being herded along the road at one point and then, on the return trip, a metre long snake on the road reared up at Jack as he went past about 50 cm away!
Probably wouldn’t have been a great last training session if the snake had of gotten him!
Cheers

Look, as good as Phil Spratt is at caricatures I don’t think having me (Brendon) attached by a rope to Jack’s bike being dragged along is completely accurate….. I’ll be using an ockey strap!
Thanks Phil!

Our ride jerseys and knicks arrived yesterday thanks to the guys at Cannibal. Jack, Harry and I went for an easy 60 km ride with Jo and Chris to try them out.
The highlight for the boys, as it often is, was breakfast which included the legendary Caramel milkshakes from Ritchie up at Alora at Bruce Ave, Paradise Point. as you do first thing in the morning!
We gave some Perth to Paradise tattoos to a young boy sitting with his dad and some mates – he didn’t throw them out which was a good sign!
Harry & Jack cuddle up in the new gear
Lovely morning for a ride – the guys are looking good tucked in behind each other.

We’ve just had our ride t-shirts delivered and they’re very nice.
Simple and easy and designed by legendary graphic artist Byron Hepburn (a mate of ours) here on the Gold Coast.

We’ve just hit the $12,000 mark with some terrific donations coming on in.
We’ve had $900 in so far today – if you’d like to get us up to the even $1,000 mark we’d love you to!
Cheers
