Oakley – Best Cycling Sunglasses
A big portion of our ride is across the desert here in Australia – specifically the Nullarbor: a section of flat, dry, almost treeless land that covers 200,000 sq kms.
We’ve investigated what sort of glare we’ll be exposed to, along with the probability of rain, not to mention assorted bugs hitting our faces.
# 1 Choice – Oakley RADAR
We settled upon Oakley RADAR glasses as the number 1 choice for a whole range of reasons:
- the lense is simply unbeatable with brilliant peripheral view and superb protection against sun and wind
- it has a permanent lens coating that prevents water from leaving streaks and sheens, which can compromise vision
- lenses are interchangeable…..as all bike riders know, this one is a must for differing conditions. As an example, we wear yellow lenses before sunrise and at dusk – really picks up the light and make it brighter.
- the frame stems and nose piece actually increase their grip when they get wet with perspiration or rain!
- very light to wear
- the most comfortable glasses we tried on (and we’ve tried on a lot)
Welcome Aboard Oakley
When Jack and I approached the Oakley team with our ride details they very kindly offered to help out at keeping expenses down so we could donate more to the ride with a donation of Oakley RADARs, as well as some casual wear glasses.
So thanks and welcome aboard to the Oakley team and thanks for being part of our efforts to help Big Brothers Big Sisters of Australia help out children who need a helping hand.
